PATACHARKUCHI, Aug 14 - Rich tributes were paid to mobile theatre director Dharanidhar Dev Goswami on his 35th death anniversary at a function at Pathsala�s Azad Bhawan recently.
Press advisor to Chief Minister Hrishikesh Goswami, who was the chief guest, said that the works of personalities like Dr Bhupen Hazarika, Bishnu Prasad Rabha, Achyut Lahkar, etc., should be known to the new generation.
Barpeta DIPRO Bikash Sarma anchored the programme. Hrishikesh Goswami lit the lamp at the portrait of Goswami and floral tributes were paid by his family members. Barpeta DC Munindra Sarma said the new generation should learn from the life and works of Goswami. Krishna Roy, producer of Abahan Theatre, lauded the government for remembering Goswami. Patacharkuchi MLA Pabindra Deka recalled the contribution of Goswami in the field of mobile theatre.
Krishna Roy of Abahan Theatre, senior artist Pramod Chandra Roy and Raghu Malakar of Parihareswar theatre were also felicitated.
