TURA, Sept 17 - Adviser to the Chief Minister and North Tura MLA Thomas A Sangma reviewed the implementation of ongoing Central and State-sponsored schemes of all departments of the district today. Members of the DPDC, SG Esmatur Mominin, MLA of Phulbari constituency, Ferlin CA Sangma, MLA of Selsella, Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills Ram Singh, vice chairman, DPDC, and heads of all departments attended the meeting.
Initiating the discussion, Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh apprised the chairman and other members of the DPDC and gave a brief sketch on the ongoing schemes.
Thomas A Sangma stressed the need for development in core areas, including infrastructure expansion and entrepreneurship promotion, environmental protection and improvement of governance.
During the meeting, the chairman urged all the department officials to organise awareness programmes to sensitise the rural people on various government schemes across the district, in convergence with line departments so as to make the people avail of maximum benefit from these schemes.
Stating that this was the right platform to discuss the problems of the departments, FCA Sangma, member of DPDC, called for regular conduct of such meetings and urged all the departments to cooperate with one another in order to come up with better planning activities for successful implementation of schemes in the district.
