GAURIPUR, Aug 5 - Ashok Kumar Singhi, MLA of Bilasipara East constituency laid the foundation stone of a paddy market at Sapatgram town under Bilasipara subdivision on Tuesday.
Prominent among those who attended the function were Mridul Yadav, (Civil) SDO of Bilasipara, Krittika Basumatary, Executive Officer of Sapatgram Town Committee, Dipesh Das, ex-Chairmam of Bilasipara Town Committee and Debajit Chakraborty, well-known activist of the party.
Rs 22,69,623 was sanctioned under the 14th Finance Commission for the year 2017-18 for construction of the paddy market.
Singhi also distributed sewing machines among 54 beneficiaries under SC welfare scheme. The distribution ceremony was held on the premises of Pratima Barua Pandey Auditorium at Bilasipara yesterday and the function was attended by Mridul Yadav, Dipesh Das and Partha Barman, Social Welfare Officer.
