MLA Bhuban Pegu declares assets

GUWAHATI, Sept 2 � Jonai MLA Bhuban Pegu today declared his own and his wife�s assets in response to the directive of his party Sanmilita Ganashakti, Assam. In a statement here today, Pegu said that his party has directed all people�s representatives of the party�MLA, Gaon Panchayat, Anchalik Panchayat and Zilla Parishad members� to declare their personal and family assets.

Pegu said that he inherited 60 bighas of farm land at Dighali Gaon, a residential plot of land measuring 2.5 bighas along with an Assam Type house at Silapathar town, 19 bighas of farmland at Silapathar, seven bighas of wood at Silapathar. He also rents out ten houses at Silapathar town as the sole inheritor of his father�s property. Besides, he inherits a 1980 Jet tractor, a 1954 Fiat car and a 1970 Willys jeep.

After being elected to the State Assembly in 2006, Pegu said that his wife purchased a Maruti Zen car with a bank loan, he himself purchased a Toyota Fortuner car with a bank loan, procured in his own name one and half a bigha of marshy land at Pachim Jalukbari Gaon under Jalukbari Mouza of Kamrup district. In addition, he is a partner of the Maihang Restaurant located in the Rajrishi Commercial Ltd�s rented house on the GS Road, Pegu claimed.
