JORHAT, March 19 - Addressing a press conference here on Friday evening, Congress candidate for Jorhat Assembly seat MLA Rana Goswami said that the BJP indulged itself in false propaganda to malign his image among the voters through false and misleading information about his educational qualification.
Displaying the certificate and the list of successful candidates of his year of achieving BCom degree from Dibrugarh University, Goswami said that no one should have the doubt about his academic qualification as he got the certificate from the university concerned that clearly mentioned that he was a graduate in Commerce.
Criticising the BJP for resorting to false propaganda, the Jorhat MLA said that during the last 10 years of his tenure, he implemented several welfare schemes for construction of rural roads and bridges across the constituency which immensely helped the farmers and the educated youths of the villages to transport their agricultural and dairy produce to the urban markets of Jorhat.
To provide easier and smoother surface communication across the length and breadth of my constituency, I stressed on the completion of the road and bridge projects which were never started, said Goswami.
Besides, I was trying to do my best for providing employment opportunities to hundreds of youths in different government institutions like Jorhat Medical College and Hospital and many others, he added. However, asked about the delayed construction of the NID in Jorhat, Goswami refuted to admit that the delay was done by the Congress government.
