AIZAWL, Feb 10 - Mizoram will provide power to all un-electrified villages by reaching the remotest corner of the State within February, State Power & Electricity department secretary H Lalengmawia said.
Lalengmawia said that the State Government is taking massive efforts for electrification of two un-electrified villages in south Mizoram�s Lawngtlai district and Mamit district on the Mizoram-Bangladesh border.
Two remote villages � Chamdurtlang in Lawngtlai district and New Eden in Mamit district would be provided electricity within this February, he said.
According to the secretary, there are many villages which have been already electrified, where restoration of electrification should be done due to the damages caused by the recent landslides and other natural calamities. Asked about energy requirement, Lalengmawia said while Mizoram requires 100 MW during peak hour, the local power generation is only 10 MW. � Newmai News
