Mizoram to begin Unlock 2.0 today

AIZAWL, July 31 - The Mizoram Government today issued an order for easing of restrictions under Unlock 2.0, which will begin tomorrow.

Several restrictions, which were in force during the first phase of unlocking, will be eased during Unlock 2.0.

�As it appears that there is no community spread in the State till date and the prolonged lockdown has severely affected the vulnerable sections of society, it is felt necessary to resume economic activities in order to restore normalcy and to mitigate the economic hardship faced by the people without compromising the health and safety of the general public,� the order signed by Chief Secretary Lalnunmawia Chuaungo said.

The State�s COVID-19 tally today rose to 408 with the addition of 11 new cases.

All international and inter-State borders in the State will remain sealed, except at Bairabi and Vairengte on Assam-Mizoram border, and at Kanhmun on the tri-junction of Assam-Mizoram-Tripura border for transportation of essential commodities. Lengpui Airport will remain opened.
