Mizoram sees rise in COVID-19 cases

AIZAWL, June 7 - The number of active COVID-19 cases in Mizoram rose to 33 after 10 Delhi returnees, including three women, tested positive last night.

�These fresh cases were from 250 samples tested on Saturday night,� an official said today. Of the new patients, seven are from Mamit district, two from Lawngtlai and one from Aizawl district.

The official said the new patients are quarantinees and asymptomatic. They were admitted to the Zoram Medical College. All patients detected in the last week were under 30 years of age.

�It�s high time everyone becomes more #responsible,� Chief Minister Zoramthanga tweeted as COVID-19 cases continue to rise in the State. Mizoram currently has 33 active cases, including 30 Delhi returnees while two returned from Kolkata and one from Gujarat.

One patient, with travel history of the Netherlands, has recovered in Mizoram.
