AIZAWL, May 29 - A woman who had returned from Karnataka to Mizoram, today showed COVID-19-like symptoms following which she and the entire train passengers of the compartment she was travelling in, will be separately quarantined.
Officials said the symptoms of the woman could also be those of tuberculosis, but utmost precautionary measures have been taken. Her sample and those of her co-passengers have been sent to the Zoram Medical College laboratory.
Officials said that of the total returnees, 55 belong to Aizawl district, one to Saitual district, five to Kolasib district and 16 to Lunglei district. They had travelled in the same compartment with the woman. Except for the Kolasib residents, all the others will be quarantined here.
Hundreds of stranded citizens from Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat were brought home to Mizoram in a special train.
