Mizoram reports 137 cases in 8 days

AIZAWL, Oct 9 - The number of fresh COVID cases has come down in Mizoram as the State reported only 137 cases in the past eight days.

Mizoram today reported seven new cases, taking the State�s overall tally to 2,157, including 220 active cases.

An official release stated that out of 130 samples examined at the RT-PCR laboratory in the Zoram Medical College here, two tested positive. Similarly, of 55 samples tested at TrueNat laboratories in different district hospitals, one turned out to be positive, while four cases were detected from 100 samples put to rapid antigen tests in different districts, the release added.

Barring a staff of the Zemabawk Cancer Hospital in Aizawl, all the new patients have travel history, the release added. On Thursday, Mizoram reported only two cases. On Wednesday and Tuesday, the State reported 20 and eight new cases respectively.

Altogether 1,937 people have recovered from the disease in Mizoram, which is yet to report any fatality.
