Mizoram people donate Rs 5 cr to CM�s Relief Fund

AIZAWL, April 22 - The people of Mizoram have so far donated nearly Rs 5 crore to the Mizoram Chief Minister�s Relief Fund to fight COVID-19 in the State.

This was disclosed by Chief Minister Zoramthanga on Wednesday. According to him, a sum of Rs 2.5 crore has been spent on helping stranded people of Mizoram outside the State as relief, NGOs and village task forces set up in connection with the COVID-19 issue.

Zoramthanga said that an amount of Rs 1.56 crore has been given to various Mizo welfare associations to give assistance to the people of Mizoram who are stranded outside the State. The Chief Minister also stated that the State Government had extended a relief of Rs 5 lakh to the Chin people from Myanmar, who are stranded in Delhi. Zoramthanga said that migrant workers and people from outside the State stranded in Mizoram are being fed and sheltered by the State Government.
