Mizoram NGO receives grant from Japan

AIZAWL, March 27 � Japan Embassy in New Delhi has handed over grant assistance for grassroot projects to selected four NGOs of India including Mission Foundation Movement (MFM) from Mizoram. It received $ 72,307 for construction of a Community Health Clinic in Khamrang village.

MFM Co-ordinator Lalramchuanzela received the assistance from Japan Ambassador to India Takeshi Yagi in New Delhi last week. Japan government has since 1989 carried out Grant Assistance for Grassroot Projects under which it gives monetary assistance to non-profit NGOs in developing countries, which work for the basic needs of the people, and also to educational institutions and hospitals.

The Japan Government has given a total of $ 349,419 to the four NGOs.
