Forbidden is a short thriller inspired by the honour killing of a South Asian American woman. Apart from Forbidden, the MISFF 2018 will also feature a lot of short films by international filmmakers keen on showcasing their creative brilliance in the festival. The festival, supported by the Mizo Film Forum, will also highlight the abilities of Mizo filmmakers. A large number of independent filmmakers based in Mizoram have come forward to participate in the mega festival.

Speaking ahead of the festival, the curator of the MISFF, Captain Rahul Bali said: The MISFF is an ambitious joint endeavour of the State Government and Innovations India aimed at creating a plethora of opportunities for both filmmakers and the State. It is heartening to know that we have already received more than 50 entries from across the world. The festival is sure to provide the much needed platform for talented and independent filmmakers from all across the globe to showcase their craft at this creative confluence. At the same time, it will bring Mizoram to instant limelight as a preferred destination for making films.

The MISFF is all set to have a glittering red carpet opening ceremony at the Aijal Club here with Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla scheduled to inaugurate it.
