AIZAWL, Feb 28 - A schoolgirl from Mizoram has been selected in a 10-member expedition team to scale the Mount Everest to be organised by National Cadets Corps in May this year.
Lalrintluangi (20), a Class XII student in Govt KM Higher Secondary School here, is the only member from the Northeastern States in the team and is also the first woman from Mizoram selected to make an attempt on the world�s highest peak.
Lalrintluangi has earlier climbed Mount Deo Tibba (19,688 ft) in Himachal Pradesh and Mount Trishul (23,353ft) in Uttarakhand earlier. During a press meet here, she was accompanied by David Zohmangaiha, the first man from Mizoram to reach the Everest.
