AIZAWL, Sept 22 - Congress MLA Vanlalawmpuii Chawngthu was today sworn in as a new Minister of Mizoram.
Mizoram Governor Lt Gen Nirbhay Sharma (Rtd) administered the oath of office and secrecy to Chawngthu in the swearing-in ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan.
With Chawngthu, Lal Thanhawla Ministry has now 12 Ministers. Senior Congress leader K S Thanga was inducted into the Ministry on Wednesday.
Chawngthu, 35, won the Hrangturzo by-poll with a margin of 2,503 votes in 2014.
Chawngthu is the daughter of senior Congress leader C Chawngkunga. She becomes only the fourth woman to be an MLA in Mizoram�s history.
