Mizoram down Meghalaya to win T Ao trophy

GUWAHATI, Feb 28 -�Mizoram emerged champions in the second Dr T Ao Centenary North East International NEC (U-21) Gold Cup Football Tournament.

In the final played at the SAI ground here today, Mizoram outshot Meghalaya by an aggregate of 4-2 goals. In the regulation time the match ended in a 1-1 draw. F Lalnun Thuanga put Mizoram ahead in the 27th minute while Ronald drew parity in the 65th minute.

In the closing function, Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi was present as Chief Guest. Dr T Ao�s son Mokak Taali, Director of Sports Dharmakanta Mili, Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh Dr Shah Md Tanbir Mansoor, LNIPE dean Biswajit Basumatary were also present in the closing function. Flarious of Mizoram was adjudged as best player of the final.
