AIZAWL, Sept 19 - With 14 fresh cases of COVID-19 reported during the last 24 hours, Mizoram�s virus tally has risen to 1,548.
An official release stated that 1,244 samples � all from Aizawl district � were tested at the Zoram Medical College laboratory here, out of which six tested positive. All the six positive cases in Aizawl are locally transmitted ones, it added.
Two others, including a BSF personnel, from Aizawl tested positive through rapid antigen tests, it said. Five Assam Rifles personnel tested positive at Lunglei, while one construction worker tested positive in Serchhip district, sources said.
All the new patients were under either home or institutional quarantine.
The release said a total of 2,004 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. Of the total 1,548 cases, 559 are active while 989 people have already recovered from the disease.
