Mizoram COVID-19 tally rises to 141

Aizawl, June 21 - Mizoram today reported a new COVID-19 case, bringing the State�s tally to 141, while nine more patients have recovered and will be discharged soon, an official source said today.

�Of the 638 samples tested at Zoram Medical College laboratory on Friday, one sample was found to be positive for COVID-19, while 416 samples were negative. Results of the remaining 220 were awaited,� the source said.

Meanwhile, from 15 samples tested with Truenat Lab at southern Mizoram�s Lunglei district, one tested positive for the virus. The result, however, is yet to be confirmed at ZMC laboratory.

The new case is a 29-year-old woman from Aizawl who had recently returned from Maharashtra. The State has now 141 COVID-19 cases of which 132 are active and nine are recovered cases.

Mizoram�s first COVID-19 patient, who returned from the Netherlands, was discharged on May 9 after spending at the hospital for more than a month.

Eight patients, who tested positive on June 1 were discharged on June 19. The nine more recovered patients will likely be discharged on Monday.
