Mizoram Cong flays Zoramthanga

By Correspondent

AIZAWL, Sept 10 - Accusing Zoramthanga of maintaining double standards regarding his Mizo National Front partys relationship with the BJP, the Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee on Monday demanded the Chief Minister to make it clear if his party was with the saffron party or not.

The MPCC communication department accused Zoramthanga of distancing himself from the BJP in Mizoram where majority of people are Christians who perceive the BJP as an anti-Christian party while the MNF is still part of the BJP-led alliance.

Zoramthanga on Monday attended a BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance meet in Guwahati.

The Congress communication department quoted Zoramthanga as saying at the 4th NEDA conclave that all the north-eastern states are now ruled by NEDA. Chief Minister Zoramthanga must tell the Christians in Mizoram who gave him a mandate whether or not he is a supporter of the BJP, the Congress demanded.

Recently, there were rumours that Zoramthanga was pressurised by the Narendra Modi government to induct the lone BJP MLA Dr BD Chakma into his cabinet. The Congress communication department also criticised the Chief Minister.
