Mizoram ACB files four chargesheets

AIZAWL, July 11 - Mizoram Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered four chargesheets related with corruption cases in a special court during the current year.

In January last, the Anti-Corruption Bureau registered chargesheet against a PWD engineer and two P&E engineers in a court. The chargesheet was filed against the three engineers in connection with the alleged Kau Tlabung and Tuipang lui mini hydel project scam.

In February this year, the ACB also registered chargesheet against four employees under Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) who were accused of forging fake LSC in the ongoing construction of Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project.

The ACB also registered a chargesheet in June against a surveyor who was accused of misusing his position and grabbing a number of plots of land on illegal ground. On June 13, the ACB framed a chargesheet against former minister who was accused of having disproportionate assets when compared to his known source of income. Besides, the ACB also registered a case against 14 people in two corruption charges. On March 15 last it registered cases against seven people accused of illegally selling land and house sites.

On June 6, the ACB registered a corruption case against seven people for alleged involvement in misappropriation in a Watershed project at Raichawk. The seven accused in Raichawk Watershed Committee are its chairman Lalnunzira, secretary K Lawmawma and five others committee members.
