Missing student brought back from Siliguri

GUWAHATI, July 7 � Mystery over the reported abduction of Kaushik Jagannath Kotoky, son of Dr AC Kotoky, Director, B Barooah Cancer Institute refused to die down even after he was brought back to Guwahati from Siliguri this morning.

While family members claim it to be a case of abduction, police, however, is not willing to buy the version.

Kaushik, a first year student of the Gauhati Medical College, went missing from his residence on Tuesday located at Survey area of the city.

Dr Kotoky, when contacted, informed that his son, who was missing since Tuesday afternoon, told that he was whisked away by two persons who apparently came to check the water purifying system on Monday afternoon. Kaushik further informed that he was made unconscious by his abductors.

�At present, we are not asking him too much and going by what he has said. He also told us that he managed to escape from his abductors after which he called back home around 1:30 am today,� Dr Kotoky said.

�We then informed the police, who brought him back,� Dr Kotoky said.

Meanwhile, Additional SP (City) Longnit Terang told this reporter that the matter is being investigated and very soon things will get clear.

However, he maintained that as claimed by family members, it is definitely not a case of abduction.
