Missing man found

By The Assam Tribune

SHILLONG, June 26 - A 55 year-old man from Arunachal Pradesh, who was missing since Tuesday from near here, was found by villagers in Mawkhanu area along the Shillong By-Pass, police said.

We have located Bagra, an Arunachal govt employee, from Mawkhanu area when villagers reported about a stranger in their village, police said.

He was conscious when the police found him but was unaware of the events that had transpired and does not know why he had gone to Mawkhanu, about 10 km away, they said.

Bagra had taken a rented accommodation near the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences at Mawpat as his wife was under treatment at the hospital and was gone missing since June 20 last.

On Tuesday Bagra told his wife he was going to the shop but never returned home since then. Acting on a missing complaint, a search operation was launched and words were passed to nearby village elders about the missing man from Arunchal Pradesh.

After his rescue, Bagra was handed over to his family after completing all formalities, the police said. PTI
