Mising Language Day observed at Silapathar

SILAPATHAR, Nov 1 - The 31st Mising Agom Longe (Mising Language Day) was observed at Akajan Murong Okum under Silapathar Police Station in Dhemaji district, 4 kms away from Silapathar town in a befitting manner with many programmes on October 30.

The programme started with a cleanliness drive at Akajan Murong Okum premises by the reception committee president Mohananda Doley. The flag was hoisted by the president of Silapathar Modum Mising Agom Kebang, Phukan Chandra Doley. Swahid Tarpan was initiated by the working president of Silapathar Modum Mising Agom Kebang, Kukheswar Doley.

As a part of the itinerary, drawing competition, essay competition and colourful cultural procession were arranged on the occasion.

The open session was inaugurated by Subo Kanta Regon, while the objective of the meet was explained by the secretary of Silapathar Modum Mising Agom Kebang, Debeswar Pegu. Two books were released on the occasion.

Mising Sanskritir Abhas edited by Kanak Kuli was formally released by Dr Ghana Kanta Doley. The book was financed by Borot Pait. Similarly, Metom Gamig written by Mohan Taw was released by Bhoben Pegu.

The meeting discussed on the topic, �Mising Language as a Medium of Instruction.� Gumrag Soman and songs were performed during the meet which was attended by several dignitaries and other prominent guests.
