Mishra stresses on harnessing Arunachal�s tourism potential

ITANAGAR, Sept 20 - Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), who is on an official visit to the national capital, today called on Union Minister of State for Tourism KJ Alphons. The duo discussed specific issues for enhancing and promoting tourism in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Governor emphasised on holistic approach in harnessing the tourism potential of Arunachal Pradesh. He requested the Tourism Minister for commissioning of eco-friendly, tourist-friendly tourism and socially beneficial projects in Arunachal.

As a follow up action of his recent meeting with the head priest of Parasuram Kund in Lohit district of Arunachal and his earlier visit to the sacred Kund, the Governor impressed upon the Union Minister of State for its overall development to promote spiritualism and age-old values, while keeping the Indian culture and traditions of the Kund undisturbed.

Sharing his experience, going 400 plus steep steps down to the Kund, the Governor said that the need of the time is to facilitate the aged and women pilgrims to perform their �Pooja� with convenience and safety. He suggested for appropriate provision of holy water in approachable Kunds.
