IMPHAL, Oct 4 - Unidentified miscreants last night set ablaze five buildings within Manipur University campus at Canchipur in Imphal West district, the police said.
The incident occurred around 10 pm, the police said adding the fire, which spread quickly, was finally put under control withing 30 minutes by the combined effort of Fire Brigade, State police forces and others residing within the campus.
The police said computers, photocopy machines, hard copies of thesis of university researchers and other study materials were burnt in the incident.
Investigation was on to find out the reason and those responsible behind the incident, the police added. � PTI
