GUWAHATI, Dec 4 - Miscreants reportedly looted around Rs 5 lakh by breaking the glass of an SUV in the Ganeshguri area of the city today. The incident took place around 2 pm. According to police, the vehicle was owned by one Mahidul Islam, a businessman from Barpeta district.
Meanwhile, Islam has lodged a complaint with the Dispur Police Station in this connection. �The complainant stated that the miscreants looted the cash while he had gone to buy some clothes after parking the vehicle at Walford bus stop in the Ganeshguri area. We are now verifying the case,� said Amitabh Basumatary, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (East).
