JORABAT, Feb 11 - Miscreants allegedly beat up the driver and the helper of a loaded truck (WB 23 B 6049), which was on its way from West Bengal to Mizoram, making them unconscious before hijacking the truck from National Highway 40 near Jorabat at 13th Mile this afternoon.
Locals rescued the driver and the helper from the spot and handed them over to the police. Police have filed an FIR and started investigating the case.
Both the driver Rakesh Prasad (31) and the helper Biswajit Giri (25) hail from Siwan district in Bihar and were resting in their vehicle when the miscreants struck.
