Miracle child mesmerises audience in Barpeta

By Correspondent

BARPETA, Dec 1 - Thousands of people were mesmerised at the Panchagram Raas Mahotsava at Baniyakuchi in Barpeta district this afternoon as the child orator from Morigaon, Haridas Deoraja delivered an erudite speech based on the principle of the Bhagawat. The entire venue turned into a sea of humanity as the flow of spectators began since morning to have a glimpse at the miracle child.

Deoraja, well conversed in the Bhagawat and other Hindu scriptures and an eloquent orator, took the audience on a spiritual trip as there was a pin drop silence during his two-hour-long discourse on religion and society, which was interspersed with humour.

He was escorted to the stage on the shoulder of an organising committee member with naam kirtan and was accorded a warm felicitation. He was accompanied by some of his close family members including his grandfather, grandmother and an aunt.

Addressing the huge crowd, Deoraja said that listening is the most important function that a man does. Without listening, acquiring knowledge is not at all possible. Stating that speaking and listening is equally important, he said that both the functions are adorned by God.

The miracle child compared the Guru and the Lord with that of a ticket counter manager and the driver of a bus and insisted that without a Guru no man can reach God. He insisted on keeping good companions and select them very cautiously. A human is born to worship God, which can be done by proper service to mankind itself.

Terming Mahapurush Sri Sankardeva as the best and greatest of all religious preachers, he exhorted all to follow his ideals. He also opposed any kind of animal sacrifice in the name of religion.

Just after the formal meeting was over people in large numbers thronged the stage to pay their respect and love to the astonishing child. They also offered him financial assistance. All the people were univocal in praising his talent and wished him good luck.
