ITANAGAR, Nov 21 - A two-year-old girl was burnt to death in a fire that engulfed her house at Aalo Yijo in the Bogdo area of West Kameng district today.
The girl identified as Alija Kampung, daughter of Tamar and Sapna Kampung, was inside the house when the fire broke out. At the time of the mishap, both her parents were away.
Rented accommodation belonging to one Yape Singkom were gutted in the blaze before firefighters arrived, West Siang SP Jummar Basar said.
The fire started around 3.30 pm. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The officer-in-charge of the Aalo PS, along with other police personnel, also joined the firefighters and managed to check the fire from spreading further, the SP said. He added that the cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet.
