GUWAHATI, June 11 - Information Technology (IT) Minister Keshab Mahanta today reviewed the works of the IT department and also gauged the development of the overall IT sector vis-�-vis other advanced states.

During the meeting, Mahanta prioritised robust Internet connectivity up to the village level, digital empowerment and literacy of the common citizen, creation of sustainable IT growth infrastructure like IT park and electronic system design and manufacturing park, digitisation of all departments and integrating them in a common platform for seamless government service delivery, making the State Secretariat and the Assembly work complete online, and finally making the Assamese language completely web compliant.

The minister sought the cooperation of all and instructed the officials present to come up with a proper roadmap within 15 days for its time-bound implementation. He also urged them to ensure that the best practices are adopted from other states as well.

The meeting was attended by VS Bhaskar, Addl Chief Secretary; MC Sahu, Commissioner and Secretary; Dinesh Pegu, MD, AMTRON, among others.
