GUWAHATI, March 23 - Food and Civil Supplies Minister Phani Bhusan Choudhury today held a review meeting in connection with the supply of essential commodities in the State.
�The department has taken adequate steps to ensure the supply of food and other essential commodities in the wake of the government�s measures to curb the spread of coronavirus. It will also ensure proper flow of vehicles carrying the essential commodities in every nook and corner of the State,� Minister Choudhury said.
The minister also directed the officials of the department to monitor hording and black marketing in view of the situation. �The officials are also directed to make arrangements for fair price outlets so that they can distribute commodities to the beneficiaries on a regular basis,� the minister added.
Deputy Commissioner Kamrup (Metro) Biswajit Pegu, Additional Chief Secretary of Food and Civil Supply Syedain Abbas, Director Manas Nath and representatives of various organisations were present at the meeting.
