GUWAHATI, Oct 1 - I-League outfit Minerva Punjab FC sailed into the final of the 11th Bodousa Cup Invitational International Football Championship organised by the Bodousa Sports Club.
In the exciting first semifinal of the championship at the Katchujan Field, Tinsukia, the Punjab team edged past Ryntih Club of Shillong. Gagandeep Bali netted the lone goal of the match in the 83rd minute. Anticipating a flag-kick taken by Sanju Pradhan, Minerva defender Gagandeep beat the opponent goalkeeper with a powerful header. Manipuri player Sothe received the best player of the match trophy. Bodousa SC president Arunjyoti Moran along with match commissioner Jogen Dohotia handed over the trophy to Sothe.
In the second semifinal tomorrow, at the same venue, Gokulam Kerala FC will take on Sagolband United FC of Manipur.
