Militants held in Manipur

IMPHAL, Nov 29 - Police arrested a self-styled 2nd lieutenant of Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) and an �active cadre� of Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-Noyon group) in two separate operations conducted on November 25, according to Manipur Police.

The ZUF member, identified as Taluatpao Kamei alias Johnpao (30) of Tamenglong, was arrested by a combined team of Imphal East District Police and 45 Assam Rifles from Mantripukhri-Ahallup area around 5.45 am.

Similarly, a KCP (Noyon group) cadre, identified as Md Ramijudin (25) of Labuk Leikai, Moreh, was nabbed during a search operation at Mantripukhri on the same morning.

On the very day, Police also arrested an over-ground member of Kuki National Front (KNF-Nehlun group), Hegin Kipgen (30) of C Zoulen, Saikul who was reportedly involved in preparation of incriminating documents of the outfit, from Happy Valley, Sagolmang around 5am, the release added. A computer was recovered from his residence.

A female over-ground cadre of the same outfit, identified as Kimboilhing Kipgen alias Sennu (28) of Bongbal Khullen, was also arrested from Koirengei area around 11 am on the same day, the police release added.

Incriminating articles were seized from them. Investigation is on.
