IMPHAL, March 19 - An activist of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (Mangal) was apprehended by a team of Manipur Police from Uripok locality in Imphal West district, police said today.

The 29-year-old militant has been identified as Paonam Abung Singh and was arrested during frisking yesterday.

He was also allegedly involved in extortion, illegal transportation of arms and ammunition for the outfit, police said. � PTI
