GUWAHATI, April 21 - Metro Sports Club and City Cricket Club (A) posted convincing victories in the group league matches of the on going Golap Hazarika and Arati Hazarika Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament, organised by the City Cricket Coaching Centre.
In two one-sided matches played at the Judges� Field here today, Metro trounced Bud Cricket Club by 36 runs while City CC handed a 93-run drubbing to Youth Cricket Club.
Metro SC piled up a commendable 147 for five in the stipulated 15 overs and restricted Bud CC to 111 for eight in the first match. Chanakya Sarma was adjudged man-of-the-match for his match winning three wickets for 21.
Host City CC amassed 155 for the loss of two wickets in the 12-over match and in reply Youth CC could score only 62 losing four wickets. Man-of-the-match Rahul Hazarika top scored with unbeaten 67.
