Met office predicts storm on Saptami

GUWAHATI, Sept 26 - Puja days may not be dry for the people of in many areas of the northeastern states. Moreover, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning or gusty wind, with a speed between 30 km per hour and 40 km per hour, may also lash some of the Northeast areas today and tomorrow, the Sasthi and the Saptami days respectively.

According to the sources in the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) here, light to moderate rains are very likely to occur at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya and at many places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura tomorrow.

On September 28, light to moderate rains are very likely to occur in south Assam, while heavy rains are predicted at one or two places over Meghalaya areas bordering Assam.

On September 28, 29 and 30, light to moderate rains are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya. On these days, moderate rains are very likely to occur at most places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. On these days, heavy rains are likely to occur at one or two places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, sources said.

In Guwahati, the sky will remain generally cloudy on September 28 and one or two spells of rain or thundershower may occur on that day. On September 29, 30 and October 1, the weather condition is very likely to remain the same in the city.

In Dibrugarh, the weather condition will remain almost same with that of Guwahati on September 28, 29, 30. On October 1 and 2, there is a likelihood of thunderstorm lashing this upper Assam town.
