DIPHU, July 11 - The All Assam Students� Union (AASU), Sarihajan regional committee under Bokajan subdivision felicitated meritorious students and several persons who have brought laurels for the hill district of Karbi Anglong in their respective fields like education, sports and farming.
Altogether 22 students who had secured first division in the HSLC examination, 2018, bronze medal winner in recently-concluded �Masters Games� Rajen Rongpi and best farmer award winner declared by KAAC in its foundation day celebration, Hemari Tokbi, were warmly felicitated by the student organisation.
The organising secretary of AASU central committee, attending as a guest on the occasion, lauded the students for performing well in their examination. Besides, the student leaders also appreciated all the persons who made their district, State and their parents proud.
Addressing the felicitation ceremonial function, the organising secretary said that such results and good jobs will encourage the upcoming generation and will make them excel in their respective fields.
Several well-known persons including AASU district committee president Bulu Baruah, All Karbi Anglong TET Teachers� Association secretary Jitu Kalita, Purnima Gogoi, Diliram Terang and others attended the programme.
The felicitation meeting was presided over by AASU Sarihajan regional committee president Bisawjit Bora while agenda of the meeting and introduction of guests was explained by Ritu Kakoti.
