GUWAHATI, April 24 � Guwahati and Tezpur today recorded all time high maximum (day) temperatures for one month under the impact of the prevailing hot day condition.
Meanwhile, a little change in the region�s existing weather condition is expected from tomorrow onwards and there is a squall warning issued by the Borjhar-based Regional Meteorology Centre (RMC) here. The squall is expected to lash isolated places of the Assam-Meghalaya Meteorological Sub-division on April 26.
According to RMC sources, Guwahati today recorded a maximum temperature of 40.6 degree Celsius, while Tezpur recorded a maximum temperature of 39.2 degree Celsius.
Earlier, on May 1, 1960, Guwahati recorded a maximum temperature of 40.3 degree Celsius, which was its highest maximum temperature for one month till date. Tezpur had earlier recorded a maximum temperature of 38.7 degree Celsius on April 14, 1972, which was its highest maximum temperature for one month till date, sources said.
Under the impact of the existing hot day condition, Borapani in Meghalaya recorded today a maximum temperature of 33.6 degree Celsius.
