TURA, June 30 - A 22-year-old mentally challenged man fatally shot a 65-year-old woman in Old Bhaitbari village in West Garo Hills on Thursday. The victim, Salam Bewa, worked as a maid in the house of the suspect. She was from Nayagaon, Old Bhaitbari as was the suspect, identified as Habibur Rahman.
According to police, the suspect along with his family has fled immediately after the incident. �She was shot using a SBBL gun belonging to the Nurul Islam, father of the suspect. She was hit in the eye and died on the spot,� said SP, WGH, Dr MGR Kumar. Police have seized the murder weapon along with the spent cartridge inside.
