IMPHAL, June 6 � Members of the Meitei Christian community staged a peace rally cum peace prayer here today. Holding placards and festoons reading � �Manipur is a land of peace and prosperity�� around a thousand rallyists attended the programme organised in protest against the alleged ill-treatment of the community.
Chairman of the peace rally, Rev Dr L Iboyaima said the rally was organised to give a message to other communities not to disturb or give threats to Meitei Christians. He said the rally is just a prayer walk for peace in the society.
He alleged that Meitei Christians in the State have been receiving threats both physically and emotionally.
