TURA, April 24 - The Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) has filed a police complaint against the host of Republic TV, Arnab Goswami.
In the FIR, the MPYC stated that on April 21, Goswami sought to attack the Constitution of the country and what it stands for, during his show on the television news channel.
The Congress has been up in arms after the blatant attacks on the party and its chief by Goswami over a lynching incident that took place in Maharashtra. The MPYC quoted Goswami�s remarks on television and contended that they could be classified as a hate speech and an attack on the Constitution of India.
�It is therefore an offence under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and guidelines of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting,� stated the MPYC FIR.
