Meghalaya virus toll climbs to 25

SHILLONG, Sept 12 - Meghalaya today registered another huge spike in COVID-19 cases with 168 testing positive, while one person died from the infection, taking the total death toll in the State to 25.

With the new cases, Meghalaya has now 1,570 active cases. As many as 124 of the new cases were reported from the East Khasi Hills district today. West Garo Hills reported 17 cases, Ri Bhoi 14, East Jaintia Hills seven, South West Khasi Hills four, and West Khasi Hills and East Garo Hills registered one case each.

During the past 24 hours, 131 patients have also recovered from the infection, taking the total recoveries in the State to 2,020.
