SHILLONG, Jan 21 - Meghalaya is celebrating its 46th Statehood Day today, however, as the day falls on Sunday in this Christian-majority State, the official function would be held on Monday.
The official function to commemorate the occasion will be held at U Soso Tham Auditorium, State Central Library here in which Governor Ganga Prasad would be the chief guest.
In his message today, Prasad extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of the State. �On this auspicious day we should all resolve to put in our best efforts to ensure that Meghalaya emerges as the premier State of the country.�
