Meghalaya reports one more death

SHILLONG, Oct 9 - One person died and 127 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected across Meghalaya in the last 24 hours.

The death has been reported from the East Khasi Hills district. With this, the total virus toll in the State has reached 61. During the same 24-hour period, 71 patients also recovered from the infection.

The new cases have been reported from East Khasi Hills district (95), West Garo Hills district (13), Ri-Bhoi district (8), South Garo Hills district (5), North Garo Hills district (4) and East Jaintia Hills district (2).

The maximum number of patients who recovered from the illness are from East Khasi Hills. With the new cases and recoveries, the total active cases in Meghalaya stand at 2,424. The total recoveries amount to 4,903.
