Meghalaya reports 3 more positive cases

SHILLONG, June 2 - Three more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Meghalaya, taking the total active cases in the State to 17.

These persons who tested positive, had returned from Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh recently. Two returnees from Uttar Pradesh tested positive in West Garo Hills district this evening. Last evening, one person who had returned from Uttarakhand, tested positive in South Garo Hills.

�Two more residents of Meghalaya who had returned from Uttar Pradesh have tested positive for COVID19. Both of them are under quarantine in West Garo Hills District,� Chief Minister Conrad Sangma tweeted.

Meanwhile, the State Transport Department has said that 50 per cent vehicles (private and public) will be allowed to ply in the State on odd-even basis. All odd number vehicles will ply on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The even number vehicles will run on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

However, on Sundays, only private vehicles with both odd and even number plates, will be allowed to ply. All shops are also slated to reopen in the State from Wednesday. However, salons, beauty parlour, spas and shops at Iewduh (Bara Bazaar) will continue to remain closed.
