SHILLONG, April 1 - Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today said that countries across the world are bracing up to tackle the post-lockdown situation and taking measures accordingly. India and Meghalaya as a State are also prepared to deal with the near future, he added.
Meanwhile, inter-State and inter-district movement has already been restricted as per Union Home Ministry guidelines. The Chief Minister was reacting to positive cases of COVID-19 surfacing in neighbouring Assam.
The Chief Minister maintained that every Government is now aware in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, and is prepared to designate a hospital to handle similar cases in the future.
He reiterated that Meghalaya and the world are facing an unprecedented situation and officials are working overtime and rectifying mistakes, as it is a learning curve for everyone.
Stating that officials and caregivers are working overtime, Sangma said that they are trying different ways to find solutions to tide over the present crisis.
