SHILLONG, March 31 - Meghalaya Police has warned that strict action would be taken against circulation of April Fool messages, pranks or jokes on the outbreak of COVID-19.
�Sharing or circulating of April Fool�s message, pranks or jokes especially about the outbreak of COVID 19, the lockdown that has been imposed, the promulgation of curfew etc., will be stringently dealt with in accordance with the provisions of law,� the State police said.
It further said that forwarding and circulating of fake news and rumours is a crime and action would be taken against those who violate the order.
