Meghalaya Guv reviews progress of Central schemes

SHILLONG, Dec 12 - Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik today reviewed implementation of Centrally-sponsored and Prime Minister�s schemes with officials of three districts of the State at the Raj Bhavan here.

The review meeting was attended by the deputy commissioners and SPs, along with other officials of East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills districts who are engaged in the implementation of government schemes.

The deputy commissioners made presentations on the performance of schemes like the MGNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, PM Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Matru Vandana Yojana, etc. They also mentioned the problems and constraints in scheme implementation, and highlighted the achievements in their respective districts.

The Governor discussed the law-and-order situation with the SPs who made presentations on issues of security, law and order, human trafficking, drug abuse and smuggling.

Malik expressed satisfaction over the implementation of schemes in the three districts, but he remarked that bank coverage and mobile connectivity could be improved for better implementation of the Central schemes.
