SHILLONG, May 16 - In the wake of the proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) indulging in killing yet again, Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has made an appeal to the outfit�s rank and file to join the �mainstream� like former HNLC general secretary, Cheristerfield Thangkhiew.

�The doors of the government for the HNLC cadres to come overground are always open,� said Tynsong on Thursday. On the government�s response to tackling the HNLC indulging in criminal activities, he said that the law will take its own course.

It may be mentioned that Romeo was killed by two HNLC cadres at Lapalang village near Pynursla on May 12. The outfit has claimed responsibility for the killing while branding Romeo as a police informer.
