Meghalaya CM tests negative

SHILLONG, June 28 - Chief Minister Conrad Sangma once again went through a COVID- 19 test, after returning from Manipur and New Delhi, and has tested negative.

According to officials, Sangma was under home quarantine for the past four days after his return from Manipur and Delhi.

�The first test was conducted on June 22 and the second test on June 28,� the officials said about the test conducted on the CM.

It was further informed that Sangma would be under home quarantine for a few more days as a precautionary measure. Sangma conducted the second RT-PCR test within this week.

The first test was conducted on Monday last when he returned from Manipur after trying to quell the rebellion within his party the National People�s Party in Manipur.

Four of his party men joined the Congress and this prompted Sangma to rush to Manipur as the party president. He once again left from Manipur on June 23 and together with the rebel NPP MLAs left for New Delhi.

Meanwhile, the team of officials and police, who accompanied the Chief Minister to Guwahati were also tested negative and they are also under home quarantine.
